Embroidery: how we do it

ARTWORK CREATION
If you already have a logo, emblem, image or text that you want embroidered, simply send it over. Make the image the best you can and hi res if possible. Our designer will work with you to ensure your design is as you want it. If you don't have a design yet, they will help you create it from scratch.

GENERATE EMBROIDERY FILE
Your design is then sent off to become an embroidery file (.DST). The file shows the machine how to efficiently stitch the design and when to swap colours. It's quite an art to work out the most efficient path for the thread to go.

HOOP IT UP
Once the file is ready and uploaded to the machine, one of our team will take your garment and hoop it up. The idea behind this is to form a working area and create tension in the area to be embroidered. The hoop is clicked together, trapping the cloth between back and forward hoops and around the area to be embroidered. There are different hoop sizes for dfferent sizes and parts of garments that help us get the best results.

EMBROIDER
The hoop is then slotted into the machine. The file is selected and the machine works across colours to create your design. Each colour is embroidered in turn, so the file will direct the machine how to fill in the different elements in a design, until the whole thing emerges to form your logo or image.

FINISHING
We remove the garment and then hand tidy the reverse of the embroidery, so everything looks neat and is comfortable to wear. It's then ready to be folded, packed and shipped!
